Dental Insurance

Dental Insurance

We offer two versions of MetLife Dental: HMO and PPO. The HMO plan has a lower monthly premium with set copays for covered services and a limited network of dentists, it’s ideal for families on a budget. The PPO plan has a larger network of covered dentists, but costs more per month. It makes up for it by having a generous coinsurance model that covers a percentage of covered services until you reach the max payout. There are other small differences, but the plan that’s better for you really depends on how often you go to the dentist, if you have a specific dentist you want to keep seeing, what services your family needs, and your budget

Overall, when choosing between the plans we suggest you look at both the Rate Sheet and the different plan pages (linked below) so that way you can get a good understanding of what changes between each plan.

If you have any additional questions about the plans, email support@SDPEBA.org or call us at 888-315-8027.

MetLife HMO

MetLife’s Dental HMO keeps costs low with fixed copays and requires choosing an in‑network dentist. You can switch monthly, and all pricing is laid out in a clear schedule of benefits.

MetLife PPO

MetLife’s Dental PPO gives you flexibility to see any dentist, with lower costs in network. It uses coinsurance and includes annual and orthodontic maximums that help manage your total coverage.
